Alpha Alpha Upsilon Omega an Award Winning Chapter

2024 South Atlantic Regional Conference

Carolyn G. Randolph Servant Leader of Excellence Award

Runner Up

The Carolyn G. Randolph Servant Leader of Excellence Award is named in honor of the 19th South Atlantic Regional Director, Soror Carolyn G. Randolph (2019-2022), and is presented to a graduate or undergraduate soror who has served significantly. The soror has demonstrated excellence in her service by helping to achieve results in her local chapter by embracing every task as a priority. Her sisterliness provides excellence to the chapter, while serving significantly as a humble and unsung steward. Must be an active graduate or undergraduate soror who is not serving in a leadership position of her chapter during the previous year, yet exhibits leadership in producing results for the chapter and community. Must serve on at least three committees in the previous year. Include the name of the committee, the soror’s role on each committee, and documentation of the soror’s attendance at committee meetings and events.

Soror Paulette Edwards

When one thinks of the phrase “Servant Leader” Soror Paulette Edwards comes to mind. Since her first day of employment with the Village of Wellington, she has given selflessly of herself to improving the lives of the less fortunate in her community. The eleven (11) Wellington Schools have always been rated as “A” schools. Because of the pandemic, many of the Wellington students fell behind in reading and math. Recognizing the need, Soror Paulette created a tutoring program and hired teachers from neighboring schools to tutor the students who scored in the lowest (25%) percentile. At the end of that summer (and every summer since) each child improved by 2-3 levels. This is one of many program initiatives that she and her staff have created. Soror Paulette is the “Epitome” of a Servant Leader.
