AAUO Celebrates SWAG Student Alonzo Lloyd
Alpha Alpha Upsilon Omega Chapter (AAUO) celebrates SWAG student Alonzo F. Lloyd. Alonzo is a senior at Palm Beach Central Community High School and was nominated by the staff of the Neil S. Hirsch Boys & Girls Club of Wellington as a finalist for “Youth of the Year” for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County. The winner will be announced on February 3, 2023.
The Boys & Girls Clubs Youth of the Year Award celebrates awe-inspiring young people, recognizing excellence in leadership, service, academic excellence and dedication to a healthy lifestyle.
Not only does Alonzo excel academically but he is also involved in numerous extracurricular activities at Palm Beach Central. In addition, he volunteers at the Boys & Girls Club and can also be found volunteering throughout the year with the Village of Wellington Community Service Department. The department is led by Soror Paulette Edwards.
“My Boys & Girls Club is my home away from home,” Alonzo said. “I enjoy spending time with the youth members and knowing my presence can change someone’s day is a gift of its own.”
Alonzo is a member of SWAG (Students Working to Achieve Greatness). SWAG is a year-round program that partners with the Village of Wellington and the Crowned Pearls Foundation, the philanthropic arm of AAUO. This past summer, Alonzo was able to participate in a SWAG internship at the Boys & Girls Club of
Wellington.
The sorors of AAUO are extremely proud of Alonzo and his nomination for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County Youth of Year Award.
